Mother, wife, photojournalist, marketing professional, newspaper and magazine photographer - That's me.
Taking photographs has been an defining part of who I am for most of my life, following the acquisition of my father's Canon AE-1, shortly after he purchased it in 1980. Soon I was showing him the camera's features and capabilities by taking photos of family and neighbors when buying and developing film could eat your whole allowance in a hurry.
Using his equipment, I secured "top spot" as photo editor for Syracuse Elementary School's newspaper in seventh and eighth grade. I was the only one with access to my own equipment and it served me well. Schoolmates still threaten to sue if I'd ever publish some of the embarassing childhood photos that now only exist in negative form. Unfortunately, that fledgling experience alone does not complete one's portfolio with much client confidence.
In 2002, I joined The Goshen News staff as a reporter and photojournalist after working as a correspondent since 1998. In 2007, I joined the staff at TechKnowledgey Inc., Goshen, as their Marketing and Customer Service representative. I continue to hone my skills as I professionally shoot current events, feature photography and sporting events for The News while my professional photography jobs threaten to burst my Outlook Calendar.
I always want to leave a customer shoot as a new friend. I do not subscribe to a bossy, demanding style and am willing to do what it takes to get the shot my subject loves - including hanging halfway outside a helicopter at 600 feet for a business assignment.
I love the diversity from brief product shots to harrowing 16 hour wedding days. I'm always ready for a new challenge and new clients and I love to just sit back and see where photography will take me next.
I hope to hear from you soon.
